HOLINESS 1

Sue O’Donnell. 18.08.20

“ ‘Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders’?” (Exodus 15 v 11)

Holiness is fulfilled, fruitfulness and faithfulness

As a result of devotion to Christ Jesus.

Jesus as Lord and Saviour,

The living, abiding Word of God,

Come to us as our Father’s promises,

Here, near because we call on the Spirit.

The life offering Spirit is entirely holy.

Invited, He breathes new life into us,

As long as we accept the Lord Jesus

As the Prince of Peace and King of Glory.

This is the salvation story written by God.

“My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed. My tongue shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long...” (Psalm 72 v 23, 24)

The Lord God of mercy, our Father,

He would witness His Son suffer and die

For us, crucified in shamed mockery upon a †,

Than lose even one of us, His beloved children.

Holiness is sharing in the goodness of God

Through the gift of the Son,

Ever holy in His perfected humanity,

And the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier,

Ever at work with us to make us

Much, much, much more like the image of Jesus.

“Your testimonies are very sure. Holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.” (Psalm 93 v 5)

“Be encouraged when you feel weak and feeble, even if sometimes you feel like giving up because the way before you seems so difficult. God wants to make level paths for you to walk on, so that instead of limping through life you walk steadily on with Him, as those healed and set free from whatever would hinder their walk.” (Hebrews 12 v 12, 13 The Truth)

Therefore let us pray.
